Congratulations to the lovely Rawan and Ahmad who traveled from New York City with to get Married in Granad. they were joined by Friends and family who travelled long distances to their wedding festivities in Spain.
The Battle of Granada was a siege of the city of Granada fought over a period of months leading up to its surrender on January 2, 1492.Granada still celebrates the 2nd of January. The Fall of Granada and Rawan and Ahmad chose the day after the 2nd to return to the city of Granada as the date was symbolic to both of them.
The early blessing in the courtyard of the Hotel Santa Paula in Granda was followed by a tour of the spenldid Alhambra.
Tha Alhambra was originally constructed as a small fortress in 889 and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid 11th century by the Moorish king Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Kingdom of Granada who built its current palace and walls, and later converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf 1,Sultan of Granada.
Both Rawan & Ahmad were as big an attraction as the Alhambra itself with onlookers photographing them as they toured the Fortress.
A Feast and party of dancing followed in Carmen de los Chapiteles which is a wonderful venue that has the Alahambra as a backdrop.
Thank you both for selecting myself to be a part of your wedding celebrations in Granada and allowing me to capture your special day through my lens.
